Ugh, the stomach bug can really take the wind out of your sails when your starting a diet. My 3 year old got sick on Monday but was fine come the afternoon. Me, however, got sick Wednesday night and am still feeling the affects. I told my husband about my blog yesterday - I think he thought I was joking, so if he does check this out - HI HONEY! I was serious! So, with my being out of commission due to the stomach bug, I have been trying to think of the best approach to start my new "lifestyle" plan - and currently, I believe I'm going to do My Fitness Pal, as well as the DASH diet. My nurse practitioner swears by the DASH diet and from all accounts it looks like a diet I could totally get into and not feel like I"m dieting. Other then it sounding like a Kardashian product, it sounds great!

Let's Get it Started
To start a blog? To not start a blog? This has been my debate ever since I found out we were going to Disney in May 2013. I highly doubt anyone will be reading this, but I want to do it for me and my family. I am the mom of an amazing 3.5 year old girl and have been married to my fabulous husband for almost six years. I haven't had the best year health wise after having back surgery for a herniated disc. Note to any moms out there: if your kid is almost 75% your height, you probably shouldn't be lugging their sleeping tooshes into the house. I learned the hard way. I also have been struggling with my weight for most of my adult life and they idea of having to do all that walking at the parks, on top of keeping up with the ball of energy known as my daughter, has made me realize that what better time to get my act together health wise then for this trip? I've been the type that puts off things and this makes me accountable because that trip will be here quicker then I think. The blog - I feel like it's another bit of accountability. If I don't come on, if I am having some hard times, whatever - I can put it here. So - what is my game plan? I think the most important for me currently is to eat three meals a day, have two healthy snacks, increase my water, and the MOST important - GET OFF MY TOOSH! So, today was the day of reflection, tomorrow begins the journey. I am going to get Fit for Disney. I am going to get Fit for my family. I am going to get fit for me!
